Call for Submissions:

The Mississauga Arts Council is looking for artists to submit their work for consideration for Phase 2 of our Utility Box Wrap Project. The second phase will see 7 utility box locations within the City of Mississauga “decorated” with an anti-graffiti vinyl wrap with themed designs created by local artists. It is our hope to continue this exciting curb side beautification project highlighting Mississauga’s history from the early years to the evolving metropolis we see today.

Submission details:

Only Mississauga artists will be considered.

The potential candidates should be comfortable using the Adobe Illustrator software.

The applicant must submit 2-3 samples of their computer generated work, with a brief description.

Please ensure your sample artwork digital file is no more than 300psi.

If you are interested in participating in this project, please email MAC: the following information by June 29, 2018, 3 pm.

Design Development:

After a swift selection process, selected artists will be given a utility box at a specific location. Each artist will develop a topical design to fit the box measurements provided, with assistance from the Mississauga Arts Council and Heritage Mississauga. Each artist will be given a date (typically 4 weeks prior to the reveal date) that their print ready artwork must be completed by. Artwork must allow for specific logos, provided by the Mississauga Arts Council.

Artist Recognition and Honourarium:

Each artist will be allowed to sign their name to the finished product. Size and location of this information must be coordinated and approved before printing. The successful artist will be awarded an honorarium ranging between $800-1200 based on the size and complexity of the box.
