Open Mic Night

Open Mic Night  on Tuesday, November 10, 2oo9 has been CANCELLED. Please stay tuned for further details of our next event.  

Open MIC Nights are a collaborative effort between the Mississauga Arts Council and Metalworks Institute of Sound & Music Production. Open MIC Nights bring together artists from across the city for a relaxed, fun evening of performing. Each night is hosted by a veteran musician from the Mississauga community. Past hosts have included Chris Graham and Mike Celia.

In Memory of Amy Doolittle 1960-2009

The Mississauga Arts Council remembers Amy Doolittle, former Membership Director and Office Manager. Amy has requested that donations be made to the arts via the Mississauga Arts Council. Please call 905-615-4278 for additional information.

 

An accomplished flute performer and teacher with a love of new music, Amy had a reputation as an outspoken champion of the arts. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music from the University of Victoria, received her ARCT (flute) from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and had extensive training in drama and dance. She studied musical theatre under the direction of Alan Lund and continued her studies under several world-renowned flutists including Robert Aitken, but also at the Banff School of Fine Arts. While there, she co-created three musical shows for children that toured the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
