Keepsake “Positive Word” Canvas or Wall Mural are created in Class 4 with spray paints and kept with the school/organization.

Positive relationships are formed with Kedre and students as they explore a new art form.

Student fee $25.00 a student, additional fees may apply.

Bridging the Gap

Our next exciting initiative from our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is “Bridging the Gap” – a day to share perspectives, knowledge and experiences while connecting, networking and collaborating.  Learn about the YAC and how to get involved in next year’s committee!  This event will take place on November 15th at the beautiful Annex Theatre in Toronto, generously donated by Theatre Ontario Board member George Randolph. The day will include speakers, an option of two workshops, a panel discussion, and a performance piece.

CURATOR 30 MINUTE FRIDAYS

Curator 30 Minute Fridays occur once every three months. The goal is to build a series of social networks and support mechanisms with the local community. The sessions deploy a conversational format for artists, writers and other cultural producers to meet and discuss their work, proposals, or grant writing feedback within a 30 minute session. The AGM strives to become a nexus for the community of Mississauga, utilize the new Resource Room as a backdrop of knowledge. By appointment only.

December 18, and then Monthly – Create Youth Arts Drop-in – Mississauga Arts Council in Collaboration with the Four Corners Health Centre: Mississauga Arts Council and Four Corners Health Centre Malton have come together to provide a monthly youth Arts Drop-in for youth living in Malton. The idea is to engage the youth in artistic endeavours and provide them knowledge and understanding of various arts programs going around the city.Another objective of the collaboration is to discover and connect with artists living in the Malton region and bring them to the fore-front of the Arts Scene in Mississauga.Time – 4:00 PM- 5:30 PM. Readers to Writers Network: Are you an aspiring writer or a reader interested in assisting new writers? The Mississauga Central Library’s Readers to Writers Network is here to help! Reader feedback is through a feedback template and both reader and writer remain anonymous to each other. Drafts may be up to two pages in length and include either fiction or non-fiction. Writers receive a Writers’ Package and may drop off their draft at the Central Library, Readers’ Den Department or forward it to Readers’ Den through their local library branch. Monday Evenings – Music for the Non-Musician: A fun, hands-on workshop for non-musicans. You will leave this workshop with the knowledge and ability to have fun with the piano, guitar, banjo, ukulele, xylophone, hand drum and many more musical instruments. Discover many simple techniques for playing musical instruments. The techniques are extremely easy and provide instant musical gratification. This popular workshop is fun for all ages and abilities and has been presented at education forums across Canada. Limited spaces available. Jim Arnold is a musician, author and a frequent presenter at schools and conferences. Fee is $30. Art of Yoga – One Wednesday Night A Month – Art Gallery of Mississauga: Unwind and contemplate the body, inspired and surrounded by art. Join Salimah Kassim-Lakha of YogaVision one Wednesday a month.
