Truth Lies Lore is a residency that offers a platform for playful reinterpretation and fabrication of ‘truths’ as a tool for disrupting established conventions. Whether through enacting alternative personas or inventing new realities through objects, artifacts, narrative, installation, photography, painting, and technology, artists will explore the mutable space between truth, lies, and lore.

Art in Motion, In Celebration of Pan Am/Parapan Am Games 2015
Deadline: Sunday May 31st , 4 pm
Visual Arts Mississauga at Riverwood and the Mississauga Central Library, in partnership with the Culture Division, City of Mississauga invite Mississauga artists to submit artworks to Art in Motion, In Celebration of Pan Am/Parapan Am Games 2015. The exhibit of 2 dimensional artworks will be on exhibit at Mississauga’s Central Library from July 6 to August 29, 2015. The exhibit theme is “motion” as it relates to movement, sports, action, and athleticism.
Submissions will be critiqued by a panel and chosen artists will be notified of drop off and pick up details in an acceptance notification. Submission forms are available at https://www.visualartsmississauga.com/news.php

Theatre Ontario is seeking an Education Assistant to assist our Program Coordinator with the preparation of our annual adult Summer Theatre Intensive, and to support our membership, marketing and fundraising departments.

Call for Submission: Poet Laureate

Are you ready to shape literary arts in Mississauga? The City of Mississauga will recognize its inaugural Poet Laureate in 2015. Poet Laureate programs exist across many Canadian municipalities as well as nationally. The role of the Poet Laureate is to elevate the status of poetry, literary arts and writers within their communities and beyond. The honorary position recognizes a poet who writes excellent poetry or spoken word and has written on themes that are relevant to the citizens of Mississauga.

Rick Davis Promotions is looking for musicians to perform at a Mississauga Shopping Centre 3 days a week: Friday 4pm-9pm, Saturday 4pm – 9pm and Sunday 1pm – 7pm.  The program will start May 15th and run until Labour day.
Performances will be outdoors.  We do have access to power, and shelter (when needed).
They are looking for instrumental groups – no vocals…these can be singles, duos, trios – etc.  They are looking more for the jazz, classical…new age – top 40 would be ok too, as long as it is done well instrumentally.
They are able to pay a small fee for artists, as this will not be a busking venue – any performers caught with their hat out will be asked to leave.

The community of Salt Spring Island, British Columbia and the Salt Spring Arts Council is proud to present the first Salt Spring National Art Prize or SSNAP.
This exciting biannual event, scheduled at Salt Spring Island’s historic Mahon Hall from September 25 to October 26, 2015, is offering 2D and 3D artists the opportunity to compete for over $24,000 in prize money.
All Canadian artists over the age of 19 are eligible to compete, with the winners presented at the Awards Night, on October 24, 2015.

The Mississauga Arts Council is looking for arts and culture lovers to spread their enthusiasm across the city while also promoting MAC and Limelight through our Ambassador Program. Being an Ambassador means attending events like Open Mic Nights, arts workshops, exhibits, and concerts to create a positive environment, represent and promote the Arts Council, distribute MAC swag, and promote membership sales. Training is provided, and all Ambassadors will be paid for every membership they sell at the events they attend. MAC Coffeehouse looking for its next artist: 
Every other Monday for the next 6 months, we’ve got space for artists to showcase their work at Studio 89. MAC will have artists of different disciplines display their work and/or perform for 1-2 hours to entertain guests and promote MAC. We’re accepting painters, dancers, singers, and artists of all forms! Exhibitions will be starting mid-November, and run for 1-2 hours in the evening.
