Announcing the launch of the City of Mississauga’s new Small Project Matching Grant Program that is open exclusively to Affiliated and Recognized Community Groups in good standing with the City of Mississauga’s Community Group Support Program (Policy 08-01-01). A maximum of $2,500 can be requested to support a specific new initiative that is outside of the normal range of activity for the applicant to be implemented and completed in 2017. Applicants are required to match funds requested from the City with the equivalent value of volunteer time ($11.40/hour – minimum wage) and/or other in-kind donations or funds.  Affiliated and Recognized Community Groups can also sponsor a project for a group that is not registered under the Community Group Support Program. The Small Project Matching Grants Program provides funds for projects that will strengthen neighbourhoods, increase resident engagement, and enhance opportunities for Mississauga residents to participate in events and activities at the neighbourhood level including Canada 150 Neighbourhood Celebrations

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS – WATER … AN OUTDOOR WALL SCULPTURE 2017.The Elora Centre for the Arts is celebrating its 15th anniversary during this Canada 150 year. We have obtained a grant through the Ontario 150 Community Celebration Fund, and we are dedicating funds for a wall sculpture submission and an installation celebration on July 1, 2017.The theme is WATER, and any Ontario artists/sculptors who have a link to Wellington County are eligible to make a submission. The award to the selected artist will be $5000, payable upon receipt and successful installation of the wall sculpture. Interested artists are to submit proposals to Jane Longman at:

DiverseCity 150 will be one component of the Windsor Jewish Community Centre’s celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary. The exhibition will celebrate the diversity of our country, our province, our city, and even the great diversity found within our own Jewish Community.We are seeking submissions around the theme of diversity: works that honour and express culture and cultures as a way to share our diverse experiences. Deadline for submissions is April 1, 2017, and works in all media are encouraged. An entry fee of $25.00 must accompany all submissions. Work must be completed within the last two years. All works can be offered for sale, with 75% of the proceeds going to the artist.

As part of our annual Next Generation Showcase, we invite applications for “New Faces” from recent graduates new to our community. Also, we are interested in applications from performing artists who are newcomers to Canada, who are outside of our application criteria. Applicants must: Be graduating or have graduated from a full-time theatre training program within the last 3 years (and not participated previously in Next Generation Showcase); Currently reside, or plan to reside, in Ontario and are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada; Presently do not have an agent.
