Aiming to create a successful music career? Mississauga Arts Council invites you to the “Music Success Kit” workshop where hit songwriter, producer, and president of Zedd Records, Mark Zubek will share his success mantra for making money in the music business. The workshop will focus on providing valuable insights and the right tools for indie music artists to not only create art but to also develop a successful business model out of it. Some of the aspects that will be discussed at the workshop are:
- How to attract lucrative licensing deals for TV, movies and commercials
- How to tap into grant funding set aside exclusively for developing artists in Canada
- Understand exactly what record labels want in 2014 and beyond
- Over 100 steps, tools and resources to building a full-time income in the music business
First three registrations will also get an opportunity to get their songs critiqued by Mark Zubek. The workshop will be held on July 28, 2014 at 7:00 PM at Studio 89, 1065 Canadian Place, Unit 104, Mississauga, ON.

Artists of all ages and styles are invited to perform at our upcoming Open Mic Nights. All are welcome! SINGFEST VOCAL COMPETITION ANNOUNCES FINALISTS
American Idol…look out! Canada’s next batch of emerging vocalists are set to steal the spotlight as they compete at the Singfest Vocal Competition Semi-Finals to be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2014 at the Living Arts Centre in Mississauga, Ontario at 2 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale at the Livings Arts Centre box office 905-306-6000 and web site www.livingartscentre.ca. Auditions are now closed for this annual event which provides an incredible platform for local singers to showcase their talents.
Produced by the Rotaract Club of Mississauga in collaboration with the Mississauga Arts Council’s Limelight Association of Young Artists, the competition gives emerging vocalists between the ages of 14 to 22 the opportunity to compete for a chance to become the next Singfest Star! Winning the competition is a major career break as it includes studio recording time at Metalworks, press coverage, promotion opportunities, prizes and so much more!
The Singfest Semi-Finals on May 31, 2014 will see the selection of the competition’s Finalists who will go on to compete at the Singfest Finals held on Saturday, July 19th, 2014 during the Amacon Mississauga Rotary Ribfest for an expected audience of 20,000. A panel of professional judges comprised of Ron Lenyk, Abigail Freeman and Frank Anthony will determine the Finalists.
