Bio

Self-taught Mississauga artist Khaula Mazhar’s intrigue with emotions evoked by situations and surroundings, seeps its way into her multifaceted subject matter.  Painting mostly with acrylics, and when her patience allows, oils, she conveys onto the canvas, feelings that range from festive and lively, tranquil and contemplative to nostalgia, melancholy and desolation.
 
Having exhibited both in and out of Canada, Khaula’s work has earned certificates of merit and recognition. Her exhibition on women’s empowerment, “Women: Unwitting Warriors”, received mention in MP Peter Fonseca’s newsletter as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from MP Iqra Khalid, she was also the winner of TD Mosaic’s live paint this year.
