The 2013 Winter Edition of the MAC-zine is here! The dynamic cover features Carla Casanova, one of the main performers of the Mississauga Arts Council’s (MAC) upcoming ARTBEATS Carnivale on November 22, 2013! A full spotlight on Carla is on page 14. In this edition, you will be able to delve into all the highlights from the inaugural Media Summit on page 8. In September, we launched our Membership & Donation Drive, bringing together creative new members to the council and increasing our profile throughout the city by 10% in new and returning members’ support.
We also saw the success of our Digital Marketing Workshop with Simon Cooper from Hybrid Digital on September 11th, attracting more than 100 of our members to the Living Arts Centre’s Rogers Theatre. Simon focused on the power of branding your art and the importance of the whole experience. According to recent stats, 93% of Canadians conduct their research online, making the quality of your website an important catalyst in driving business.
We are exuberant about the launch of our fresh NEW website! We decided to launch it simultaneously with this winter edition of the MAC-zine! As you will see, it is more user friendly, easier to navigate and overall very pleasant to the eye! We are also ecstatic about our new mobile app, created completely through an online program called “tapcanvas.” Check it out here.
In October, we saw the success of the Whole Foods Market Square One Open Mic hosted by Natalie Muzos and an Independent Publishing Workshop lead by author and filmmaker, Peter Rowe.
