On your application, choose to compete in Headwaters Region, Ontario!

Art Battle is live competitive painting. Painters create the best work they can in 20 minutes. As they work, patrons move around the easels, closely watching the creative process. The medium is acrylic paint and the tools allowed are brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical implements. At the end of the round, the audience votes democratically for their favourite painting and bids in silent auction to take the work home.

Participants compete in one of 3 preliminary painting competitions at the Alton Mill Arts Centre which culminate in a Headwaters Region Art Battle Championship. The victor moves on to the Regional Championship in Mississauga, where they have a chance to compete in the National Championships.

Call for Band Members – Indie/Alternative: My name’s Andre Issa, I’m 16 years old and a vocalist. My musical influences are The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, RHCP etc… The reason for this ad is, I’ve recently been struggling with my band members. They seem not to take it as seriously as I do. Consequently, I don’t have any committed band members. I thought I’d take this opportunity with MAC and call for artists. I’m very interested in doing gigs and having a demo. If anyone is a bassist, drummer, or guitarist I’d like to start a new band in the genre indie/alternative, aged 15-20 preferably. I’m very committed and hoping to take the band as far as possible. Hope to hear from you soon. Please contact me at
