The City of Mississauga is calling for emerging visual artists to submit their chosen pieces of interest which will be used to paint an array of temporary art murals. These compositions will be displayed publicly at Sculpture Court Skate Park, outside of the Mississauga Civic Centre. Artists will be working together, under the mentorship and advice of a qualified, professional artist with the aim of creating and implementing an advanced vision for the City of Mississauga, and Sculpture Court. This experience will allow eager artists to gain a beneficial and professional understanding as well as a paid mentorship opportunity along the process.

This civic art contest is accessible to any and all emerging artists residing in the City of Mississauga. A suitable candidate for an emerging artists consists of someone who is in the beginning years of their  professional career, has had previous art exhibits, displays, and/or shows. Elected artists will be given a $250.00 complimentary fee to attend an art workshop hosted by a skilled mural artist. This workshop will enable and encourage emerging artists to design and paint one of the nine panels the compositions will be displayed on. These murals will be publicly presented on Tuesday May 7th, 2019.
