The City of Mississauga welcomes any qualified Canadian artists or artist groups/teams to propose chosen art pieces for an artist-implemented Bee Hotel, which will be located in Jack Darling Memorial Park. The mission of this Bee Hotel is to provide a safe haven for female bees to rest and lay their eggs. Bee hotels are extremely effective in aiding and upholding the population of native solitary bees, which is why the City of Mississauga wants help from skilled and experienced artists to enable and encourage the formation of this project.
This civic art project will not only fuse creative artistry with environmental conservancy, but will help further improve Mississauga’s green life and inspire the public to take on eco-friendly principles. Artist(s) will be given a budget of $7,000 + HST to cover the costs of all materials and expenses related to the project.
Deadline: Friday March 29th, 2019.
