Just to set your expectation, the last time we posted we received 300 applications and called two people back, one was hired right away. We just don’t have time to interview many candidates & we will need to cut almost everyone based on their application – so make yours stand out if you want a job that will change the entire trajectory of your life!
If you are interested in this role, here’s what we SPECIFICALLY need from you.
1. To get us to open the email, you MUST put the secret code into the email subject line. If you don’t have the secret code, please do not apply.
2. You can send a cover letter OR link to a video (your chances triple with a video!) to firstname.lastname@example.org – but it must include the answers to the questions: What does portraiture mean to you? Why will you work harder than anyone else in this role should you get it? It also must include your minimum compensation requirements. Being vague in this area just sets up a concern that you’re not going to be able to ask for what you really want later if you come on board. Wow us with your personality, speak to us personally, keep your letter informal and as succinct as possible! Bonus if you’re willing to send the video intro, less for us to read!
3. Include your resume … sure … but know our primary focus will be on your intro video (or cover letter). Resumes are only vaguely interesting.
Guess what? 95% of applicants don’t even read the ad so you’ve got a real shot!
