The Living Arts Centre (LAC) in Mississauga is now accepting applications for our Fellowship Program. This Program seeks to support local, national and international emerging artists, who have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the past 2 years. Accepted Fellows will be those who demonstrate dynamic artistic promise.
The Program is designed to support Fellows in a collaborative environment as they begin their careers. Mentored by the Residency Coordinator, Fellows should expect to receive insight on their artistic practice, professional development, and feedback on how to become competitive in the arts industry.
The aim of the Fellowship Program is to:
-Provide professional studio space
-Support professional development
-train in exhibition installation practices
-Foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere
-Promote interdisciplinary experimentation with other Fellows and LAC Residents
-Provide networking and commission opportunities
-Allow for creative freedom through self-directed residency
The LAC offers professionally equipped studios in the areas of:
• Painting and Drawing
• Photography (analog and digital)
Fellowships are awarded based on application review and studio availability. The LAC offers competitive and subsidized studio rental rates. Expenses are paid by artists. Living and transportation expenses are not covered through the Fellowship.
