The interim tag has been dropped from Mike Douglas’ title with the Mississauga Arts Council.
Named as the interim executive director of the arts organization back in the spring, he was announced as the new executive director earlier this week.
“We’re delighted,” said MAC board resident Brian Crombie in a release. “Mike has a marvelous knowledge of Mississauga, our diverse and emerging arts scene and he’s familiar with the (municipality’s) key decision makers.”
Douglas, a former editor and co-publisher of Spirit of the City magazine, was named to the 35-year-old MAC’s top spot after a months-long search.
“It’s about purpose (and) most of us crave a special purpose in life,” said Douglas, in a release. “And, there’s high purpose here in enabling more talents to succeed in our city.”
