MISSISSAUGA — The Mississauga Arts Council has a new executive director after welcoming Anu Vittal to the role late last week.
Vittal, who was working as CEO of the company AVC that provides marketing support and development for overseas companies looking to expand their North American markets, has plenty of experience in the arts industry.
She worked with Arts Marketing, promoting the efforts of not-for-profit art organizations, as director of marketing and has served as the volunteer festival director of the popular Mosaic Festival. She’s also the former president of the Mississauga Arts Society and serves on the board of directors of Sampradaya Dance Creations.
“The board and staff of the Mississauga Arts Council are very excited to have Ms. Anu Vittal as their new executive director,” said MAC president Bohdan Shulakewych. “The hiring of Ms. Vittal marks a new direction for the Mississauga Arts Council ensuring an expansion of its role to artists and the community at large.
Our city could not be better served.”
Vittal replaces Linda Thomas, who stepped down as MAC’s executive director earlier this year.
