About Mike

Mike Douglas, Executive Director of Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) has enjoyed bringing the organization into sharp focus as a valuable arts service agency, providing and initiating new opportunities for creative expression, employment and recognition. Aligned with this, MAC supports the professional development of artists, providing educational webinars, online coaching and seminars that grow ‘artpreneurial’ capacity and enhanced digital communications skills. Turning the Mississauga Arts Awards into a gala dinner celebration has made The MARTYS the most comprehensive city arts awards program in Canada. The artists’ showcase that is MAC’s Masquerade Ball has evolved into a successful fundraiser, helping MAC to operate its MicroGrant program that has awarded over $460,000 to enable 182 artist-led projects across the city since its launch in 2019. Previously, Mike was founding Editor and Co-Publisher of the popular city magazine MississaugaLife – Spirit of the City. For 30 years, he was a freelance television director for network documentaries and dramas, this TV work included significant communications assignments for leading companies in corporate Canada. Mike’s many years of community service earned him the King Charles III Coronation Medal (2025) and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Award in 2012.

About Susan

Susan Durnin has over 15 years of arts administration experience in office operations and management, grant writing, concert and tour logistics, and event production. Susan has served in administrative roles for Andrew Kwan Artists Management, the Association for Opera in Canada, and the Canadian Opera Company’s Free Concert Series in the Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre. Susan holds Certificates in Professional Fundraising from Boston University and Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Management from Toronto Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Manitoba. During her free time, she is involved with DFM, a quirky electric bassoon cover band, and performs in community and professional orchestras. Susan brings a unique perspective to her administrative work in the arts sector.

About Jacqueline

MAC’s Creative Director and Strategist Jacqueline Mak led the 2021 rebrand of the Mississauga Arts Council and the launch of SaugaArtsHUB.com, Mississauga’s first online artist directory. She has spearheaded the Murals with MAC program to what it is today, a public art program that strengthens community and stakeholder relationships through inclusive, impactful projects. Jacqueline manages all aspects from planning and procurement to artist support and public safety, often collaborating with city departments, sponsors, and Indigenous partners to deliver meaningful art activations.
Part of this work includes coordinating artists, fabricators, and installers to realize site-specific works that honour the land and serve both public and private spaces, and developing social media strategies to support project unveilings and artist features. She oversees all of MAC’s creative projects, working closely with MAC’s Communications Manager and Lead Multimedia Designer.

About Glodeane

Glodeane Brown is an arts administration and cultural management professional, writer, and visual arts curator. She has worked closely with artists across multiple disciplines. She has considerable public art experience and has worked for the Town of Halton Hills as the municipality’s first Public Art Coordinator, and for Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener + Area (CAFKA), Ontario’s longest running public art forum.
Glodeane sits on the boards and committees of several arts organizations. In 2020 she was awarded a General Arts Award by Arts Awards Waterloo Region for her contributions to the Waterloo Region arts community. She graduated with honours from the Arts Administration and Cultural Management program at Humber College.

Sherri Parliament has driven dynamic and results-focused communications at the Mississauga Arts Council since January 2020, orchestrating strategic messaging, high-impact advertising campaigns, and influential media relations for both MAC and the Sauga Arts HUB. She has also conceptualized, developed, and produced acclaimed programs in music, with a portfolio that includes Amphitheatre Unplugged, Next Gen: Singing Contest, Sauga’s Song of the Year—each designed to ignite creativity, amplify artistic voices, and celebrate local music talent. With over eight years of proven excellence in multimedia, communications, and campaign management, sharpened through key roles at Redbrick Communications and McMaster University, Sherri fuses innovative storytelling with strategic precision to deliver meaningful impact. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and Multimedia, with a minor in Theatre and Film from McMaster University.

About Sabrina

Sabrina Cunha is the lead Multimedia Designer at the Mississauga Arts Council, where she shapes the visual identity of over 30 programs, events, and initiatives each year. Since joining the team in 2020, she has been instrumental in executing MAC’s 2021 rebrand, designing a refreshed logo and visual system that aligns with the organization’s digital-forward Strategic Plan. Sabrina leads graphic design, video editing, and website content for MAC’s platforms, including SaugaArtsHUB.com, Mississauga’s go-to arts directory. She also develops and manages multi-channel social media content for an audience of 35,000, contributing to nearly 20,000 new followers over four years and generating millions of impressions annually. With an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Advanced Diploma in Art & Art History from the University of Toronto – Mississauga and Sheridan College, and as an Associate RGD (Registered Graphic Designer), Sabrina brings a thoughtful, community-driven approach to design to amplify Mississauga’s vibrant arts scene.

About Kamila

Kamila Yusuf is a digital marketing professional with a passion for content creation, storytelling and social media. She has worked across industries from video games, to global health, supporting everything from PR campaigns and press releases to social media strategy and community engagement. Previously, she supported communications in the video game industry and worked with international organizations like the United Nations and the Global Fund. Kamila holds two Master’s degrees— one in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po Paris, and another in Public Relations and Digital Marketing from Media University in Berlin. She thrives at the intersection of culture, communications, and digital trends.
