“At the end of a singing session, a wife approached me with tears in her eyes. Her husband hadn’t been responsive for months, but when I was singing, he started to sing along. She said we had made her month; that music is magic.”

Pilot Project (2024): The Seniors Arts and Music Program

SAMS brought creative experiences to seniors across Mississauga in 2024 and 2025.

““Thank you and MAC again so very much for arranging the workshop – it was such a treat for my clients, and it was so beautiful to see their enthusiasm (and pride in their work!)… It means so very much to me to be able to provide my clients with such impactful experiences, and we so greatly appreciate your support in this! The SAMS project is truly wonderful.“”

NICOLE DOREY, COORDINATOR OF THE SOCIAL CONNECTIONS PROGRAM, HOSPICE MISSISSAUGA

The SAMS pilot project was supported through a generous grant from the Ontario Government.
Thanks to generous community sponsors, SAMS will continue to provide meaningful creative experiences for seniors living in long-term care.
