This week on the show, Jacqueline Mak, MAC’s Creative Director & Strategist sat down with Lisa Jayne Irvine, a local multimedia artist and podcaster. Lisa provides tips on how to balance work life and a professional art practice, her podcast “Art Conversations with Lisa Jayne Irvine”, more details about her work and what it is like experimenting in different mediums, and what it was like to recently win a 2022 MARTY Award in the Established Visual Arts Category!

Ashley gave us an in-depth look at her artistic process, and how she narrates fantastical stories based on references from pop culture, her childhood and her imagination. She also chatted more about her recent passion for public art projects and her involvement with Murals with MAC on the LCBO Port Credit Mural Project and her utility box mural with Hyatt Mississauga.

This week, Jacqueline Mak, MAC’s Creative Director & Strategist met with Lynn Taylor, a local Indigenous visual artist to chat more about her two new public art pieces: her mural as a part of the LCBO Port Credit Mural Project and her utility box installation unveiled on National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21st, 2022, made possible with Express Scripts Canada as a part of the Murals with MAC program. She also chatted about her involvement with The Eagle Spirits of the Great Waters – Indigenous Arts & Culture, her artistic process, and her inspiration from nature and her growing knowledge of her indigenous background.
