Mississauga Arts Council and The Open Gallery offering FREE limited FYI Youth Kits to young creatives containing $100 dollars worth of artworks, resources, and art supplies

Mississauga, ON – March 1st, 2022

Mississauga Arts Council (MAC), in partnership with The Open Gallery (OG), are excited to announce FYI Youth Kits, a limited run of 50 FREE kits containing $100 dollars worth of artworks, resources, art supplies, and more available for youth ages 15-18 years old.

The FYI Youth Kits are meant to inspire youth to help them pursue a career in the arts and connect them with other creatives in Mississauga’s dynamic arts community. Items in the kits showcase talent from across Mississauga including works from accomplished creatives; David Anthony, Ashley Beerdat, Susan Ksiezopolski, Karim Machado-Aman, Sima Naseem, and Amrita Virdi.

“We are thrilled to partner with The Open Gallery on this initiative.” says Jacqueline Mak, MAC’s Creative Director & Strategist, “The Open Gallery does impactful work for emerging artists in Mississauga and we hope youth will be motivated to tap into their creative passions and produce their own works with materials found in these kits.”

There are 50 FREE – FYI Youth Kits available (30 visual art boxes and 20 musician boxes). Kits are available on a first-come/first-serve basis. Mississauga youth between the ages of 15-18 years of age can register for one limited run FYI Youth Kit. Deadline to sign up to receive a kit is Monday, March 14th, 2022. FYI Youth Kits can be picked up in-person at the MAC office (300 City Centre Drive, Suite 1055, Mississauga, ON, L5B 3C9) on March 14th-17th, 2022, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. If you do not pick up your kit during these times, or make alternative arrangements with MAC in advance, your box will not be reserved for you.
