Project: Bollywood Reimagined – 70’s, 80’s & 90’s Magic
Anubha Jha, through her group A J DreamZ, used her Matchmaker MicroGrant to produce Bollywood Reimagined: 70’s, 80’s & 90’s Magic, a live music concert celebrating beloved classics from Bollywood’s golden age. Held on March 7, 2026, at the Maja Prentice Theatre in Mississauga, the performance featured a dedicated 10-person team of vocalists, instrumentalists, and hosts in front of a completely sold-out audience of 194 enthusiastic music lovers.
The show featured powerful vocal performances by local singers Talha Masood, Seema Maraaj, Pradeep Arora, and Anubha Jha, alongside live instrumentation and a special storytelling tribute segment by Vishnu Sharma honouring legendary Bollywood film icons. The project employed 13 local artists and technicians, and created an intergenerational space for audience members to sing along and reminisce.
“The enthusiastic response from a full house audience reaffirmed my commitment to creating culturally rooted performances that connect communities through music, nostalgia, and shared memories… The project allowed me to bring together talented musicians and singers from the GTA and curate a live musical experience celebrating Bollywood’s golden era.”
