The Mississauga Arts Council and The Open Gallery have partnered to offer youth free art kits to pick up and enjoy over the March break.

Fifty FYI Youth Kits, containing $100 dollars worth of artworks, resources, art supplies and more, are available for youth ages 15-18. The kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis and youth can sign up to receive them up until March 14.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Open Gallery on this initiative,” Jacqueline Mak, MAC’s creative director and strategist, said in a news release. “The Open Gallery does impactful work for emerging artists in Mississauga, and we hope youth will be motivated to tap into their creative passions and produce their own works with materials found in these kits.”

Those who are successful in securing a kit can pick them up at the MAC’s office (300 City Centre Dr., Suite 1055) between March 14 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The kits are sponsored by DeSerres, Long & McQuade and Heritage Mississauga.
