Alison Syer used her 2021 Matchmaker MicroGrant to create an illustrated book, Drawn In: An Illustrated Garden Tour that tells the story of her own garden, how it became what it is from not much more than weedy lawn to a mature, varied and welcoming space. Equally important, Drawn In highlights the artwork, bringing the story to life. It also demonstrates how the garden is a habitat for wildlife, as well as enriching life for its owners.
Working on this project has been both challenging and rewarding – it’s had some hiccups along the way but feels amazing to be about to publish! The support from MAC and everyone I’ve talked to throughout the process has been wonderful.Alison Syer, 2021 Matchmaker MicroGrant Recipient
