Project: Rising Phoenix: The Debut Album Concert
Singer-songwriter JSAL used her Matchmaker MicroGrant to support the release of her latest album, Rising Phoenix, with an album release concert at the Rec Room Square One. Inspired by her journey as a breast cancer survivor, the concert marked JSAL’s debut performance with a full live band. The project gave her the opportunity to expand her artistic skill set in dance, stage direction, and event production.
The show also supported two emerging opening acts, brought together over 180 attendees, employed several local artists, and supported the Canadian Cancer Society through its ticket sales.

The support from the grant helped bring a meaningful, high-quality production to life that fostered connection, representation, and emotional engagement within the community.
