Mississauga Teenage Singers – Perform at Sauga Teens Got Talent!

Mississauga Arts Council (MAC) is excited to announce the return of Sauga Teens Got Talent hosted by Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival, produced by MAC and sponsored by Metalworks Studios and Metalworks Institute.

15 teenage singers will showcase their talent at one of Mississauga’s biggest festivals, Streetsville Bread & Honey Festival for a chance to win a cash prize and a grand prize of online education courses for the top three winners from Metalworks Institute, with the top performer winning a 4-hour vocal recording session at Metalworks Studios, Canada’s premium recording studio. 

“We are pleased to contribute to the return of Sauga Teens Got Talent,” says Metalworks Studios Founder & CEO, Gil Moore. “This competition is a chance for Mississauga’s upcoming youth to showcase their skills and win some encouraging prizes that will further their artistic development, and it might just be the launch pad that they have been waiting for!”.

Taking place on Saturday, June 4th, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM, live and in-person on Queen St. as part of the Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival, the contest is open to teenage singers aged 13-19 years of age who reside in Mississauga. The top performer will have the opportunity to perform an encore presentation in the town square at the end of the festival.

“We are thrilled to bring back Sauga Teens Got Talent live and in-person at this year’s Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival after three long years.” says Sandra Pitts, Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival Director. “The performers we enjoyed in the past have been unbelievable and we’re looking forward to seeing what new talents will be discovered this year!”

The contest will be juried by leaders from the Mississauga music community including Demetrius Nath from Mississauga Music, singer-songwriter Mauve and hosted by pop country singer-songwriter, Bree Taylor.

“Sauga Teens Got Talent provides a platform to our city’s youth to tap into their passions for performing.” says Mike Douglas, MAC’s Executive Director, “This contest is a stepping stone for them to gain valuable experience performing live, win music industry courses, and for the top winner, record at the best studio in Canada!”

Interested teenage singers (and/or parent or guardian of teenager) are invited to submit to Sauga Teens Got Talent by submitting an online audition, the top 15 will be selected to perform. The deadline to submit an audition is Friday, May 27th by noon at: mississaugaartscouncil.com/programs/sauga-teens-got-talent/
