MicroGrant Success: Sarena and Sasha Nanua, Spirit Service

MicroGrant Project: Career Development for Spirit Service novel

Sarena and Sasha Nanua used their Career Development MicroGrant to support the release of Spirit Service, their debut middle grade novel. The story follows four girls in a fictional Mississauga-esque town who discover a rotary phone that connects them to the spirit world. Together, they launch a service helping townspeople reconnect with lost loved ones, while also navigating their own experiences with grief, friendship, and growing up.

The MicroGrant specifically supported marketing and travel costs surrounding the book’s launch. This included: promotional materials, website updates, and preparations for the upcoming launch event in partnership with The Book Wardrobe.
