MAC’s own Ronn Starr was honoured by Japan for his outstanding contribution in international relations and promotion of Japanese culture with the Order of the Rising Sun Gold and Silver Rays. This is the third highest order presented by the Japanese government.
Councillor Starr has been actively involved as the Chair of the Mississauga Friendship Association and has led cultural exchanges that have strengthened Mississauga’s relationships with sister city Kariya, Japan.
“We are so pleased for Ron to receive this award and be recognized for his years of dedication to strengthening international ties,” said Mike Douglas, MAC Executive Director.
